King Fish - Fry
At our home, most of us are working. Hence Sunday is very precious and Sunday Lunch is more valuable. Where all of us sit and dine together. Two things are mandatory on Sundays. One is non veg food and other is the ice cream. So Sunday Special for this week was Rice, King fish fry and Kerala style Fish Curry along with curd, rasam and pappad. Then butterscotch ice cream.
King Fish- 500 g
Garlic- 5 pods
Rock Salt- as per taste
Water- 3 tbsp
Red Chilly- 5
Pepper Corns- 1 tbsp
Oil- 5 tbsp (for shallow frying)
Take a mixer grinder and dry grind rock salt, pepper and red chilly.
Add onion and garlic and grind to a smooth paste.
Add to fish and mix well to evenly coat fish pieces with masala.
Marinate the fish for 2 hours (minimum 30 minutes marination is mandatory).
Heat a wok with 5 tbsp oil.
Place fish and simmer.
Cover the wok with lid and let the fish get fried for 3 minutes.
Now turn around and cook for another 3 minutes in simmer flame.
Remove from wok and serve hot with Kerala Style Fish Curry and hot rice.
