White Bread Manchurian
Manchurian in general is liked by all. Especially kids. I love manchurian too. We had a small get together and I made White Bread Manchurian and Potato Manchurian. I used to make Gobi Manchurian and wanted to try something new.
The main coarse was Green Peas Pulao. If the main coarse was Roti or Naan I would have made the Soy Manchurian. This dish is so tasty with crispy breads in manchurian sauce. The crunchy capsicum and the spring onions adds a great value to the taste.
White Bread 6 slices
Oil for deep frying
Garlic- 5 pods
Capsicum | Green Bell Pepper -1
Green Chilly- 3
Spring Onion- 5 Stalks
Tomato Ketchup- 3 tbsp
Soy Sauce- 1 tbsp
Chilly Sauce (Green |Red) - 2 tbsp
Salt- as per taste
Sugar- 1 tbsp
Corn Flour- 2 tbsp
Water- 1 cup
Oil- 3 tbsp
Finely chop onions, garlic, green chilly and spring onion and set aside.
Chop big pieces of capsicum and set aside.
Cut Bread into medium size blocks (refer pic)
Heat oil for deep frying in a wok.
Deep fry Bread (Use simmer) till it is crisp and brown.
Deep fry capsicum and set aside.
Now remove excess oil and have just 3 tbsp of oil in the same wok.
Add green chillies and chopped garlic and fry them well.
Add onion,salt and fry till onion becomes golden brown.
Add chilly sauce, tomato sauce, soy sauce, sugar and 1/2 cup water and keep stirring.
Rest 1/2 cup of water should be mixed with corn flour and kept ready.
Now simmer the flame and add corn flour and give a quick stir.
Add fried bread, capsicum and stir as the sauce thickens.
Put off the flame once sauce is well coated on the bread pieces.
Add spring onion and give a quick toss.
Transfer the contents to the serving plate.
Yummy White Bread Manchurian is all set to enjoy.
Points to be noted:
If you want to avoid deep frying, toasted bread can be used by cutting into pieces.
Deep fry bread in slow flame otherwise it will char in no time.
Instead of White Bread, wheat bread can be used too.
