Worried about the left over idlies? Please do not.. There is a solution. Make these yummy chilly idlies and in no time the idlies will be over.


Idlies- 8
Onion- 1 big
Garlic- 5 pods
Tomato sauce- 3 tbsp
Red chilly sauce- 6 tbsp
Green chilly- 5
Salt as per taste
Oil- 3 tbsp

  • Heat a tawa and place idlies onto of it and toast till both the sides are crisp.
  • Finelly chop onion, garlic and green chillies.
  • Cut the toasted idlies into small pieces and keep aside.
  • Heat a pan add oil.
  • When oil is well heated add finely chopped garlic and green chillies.
  • Fry them well and add onion and salt.
  • Fry till golden brown and add tomato and chilly sauce.
  • Fry them well and add 1/2 cup of water.
  • When the gravy begins to boil add idles and stir.
  • Serve hot with raitha.
