I got to taste this yummy dish when my friend had her baby shower. This is totally different from Paneer Butter Masala and the best accompaniment was Butter Naan.
Ingredients

Paneer – 250 gms
Onion- 2
Ginger garlic paste- 2 tbsp
Red chillies- 3
Tomatoes- 5 medium sized
Curry Masala powder- 2 tbsp
Chilli powder- 1 tsp
Coriander powder- 2 tsps
Salt- required amount
Fresh cream -1/2 cup
Oil- 4 tbsp

  • Take Paneer, cut into cubes and deep fry in oil in slow flame.
  • Blanch 4 tomatoes and puree them.
  • Chop onions and reserve 1 tomato and chop it too.
  • Heat a kadai with oil.
  • Add onion, gg paste and red chillies and fry.
  • Add chopped tomato and salt and fry well till the raw smell goes.
  • Blend all the fried ingredients in a mixer grinder to a smooth paste.
  • Pour it back to the kadai and add the tomato puree too.
  • Add chilli powder, coriander powder, curry masala powder and toss them well.
  • Add fresh cream and stir.
  • Add fried paneer and put off the flame.
  • Serve hot with roti or fried rice (Recipe here).
TIP: Thaw paneer to room temperature before frying. Otherwise paneer will scramble in hot oil.
