Tomato gravy for Dosa/Idly

A very easy and yummy gravy. Taste so good with Dosa | Uthappam | Idly. There are 9 Varieties of Dosa and 8 Varieties of Idly suited for this. 

Ingredients:

Tomato-5
Coconut- 1 cup
Red chillies- 4
Garlic- 2
Tamarind- small piece
Salt- as per taste
Mustard- 1 tbsp

Tomato gravy for Dosa/Idly

  • Cut tomato into big circles. 
  • Now heat a kadai with oil. 
  • Add tomato, red chillies, cocout and fry only for 2 minutes (the raw smell should retain). 
  • Now take a mixer grinder and add this tomato coconut, tamarind, garlic (yes raw) and grind to make a smooth paste. 
  • Now heat kadai with some more oil and add mustard, when mustard crackles add this ground paste and a cup of water and boil for 5 minutes. 
  • Serve hot with dosa, uthapam idly or kuli paniyaram.
