Fish Roast

This recipe is my aunts recipe. She is a Doctor and very health concious. She make this fabulous fish fry and it tastes just yumm. You can realize that only if you taste it. So lets just hop into this healthy fish roast.


Pepper- 2 tsp
Garlic- 10 pods
Chilly powder- 3 tbps
Salt as required
Jeera powder- 1 tbsp
Lemon Juice- 5 tbsp
For roasting:
Onion -3
Tomato- 5
Oil- 6 tbsp

  • Grind 1 onion, pepper, garlic. Chilly powder, salt , jeera powder, lemon juice to a smooth paste. 
  • Marinate fish with this ground paste and mix well, and keep aside for 2 hours.
  • Slice onions and tomatoes for roasting. 
  • Take a kadai and heat it with oil. 
  • Place tomatoes and onions as shown in the figure. 
  • Place fish on top of the slices. 
  • Cover the kadai with a lid and cook till soft, now carefully turn the fish and cook in open flame without covering the lid.  
  • Repeat the procedure till the fish is roasted on both sides. Yummy fish roast ready. Serve hot with Jeera Pulao.
  • TIP: throughout cooking use medium flame for better results.
