Channa Masala if announced for Brunch or dinner its a big yay from all. Even if I pack for lunch I have to pack extra for my friends. This rule is applicable to them as well. So why not share this yummy channa masala recipe.


Ingredients:

Channa Dhall- 1 cup
Onion- 2
Tomato-2
Oil- 3 tbsp
Ginger garlic paste- 2 tbsp
Channa masala powder- 1 tbsp
Coriander powder- 1 tbsp
Methi leaves- 1 tbsp
Chat masala- 1 tbsp
Salt as per taste
Butter- 2 tbsp
Coriander leaves - few

Method:

  • Soak Channa hal over night and pressure cook with little salt.
  • Heat oil in a tawa.
  • Fry ginger garlic paste, onion and tomato.
  • Add channa masala, chat masala, kasuri methi, coriander powder, chilli powder, salt and fry well.
  • Add cooked channa and mix well
  • Add coriander leaves and butter.
  • Serve hot with naan or maida chapati.

Points to be Noted:
  • Channa needs to soaked for 8 to 10 hours.
  • If you do not have mush time, soak it in hot water and close in a hot pack. Soaking will happen in an hour.
  • Adding cooking soda and salt will fasten up cooking and prevent breakage of channa.
