Peanut Chutney


This is a very healthy chutney which tastes like coconut chutney with a light peanut taste. When I served this to guests they thought it was coconut chutney. All compliments to my neighbor who gave me this recipe. For people who are diet conscious not to include coconut can make this healthy chutney.

Ingredients:

Roasted peanuts- 1 cup (Dehusked)
Garlic- 2 flakes
Green chillies- 4 (adjust as per your taste)
Salt- as required
Tamarind- small gooseberry sized
Peeled small onion- 5
Oil- as required
Mustard seeds- ½ tsp
Urad dal-1 tsp (black gram dal)
Curry leaves- little

Method:
  • Grind Peanuts with Green Chillies, Salt, Garlic and Tamarind to a coarse chutney consistency.
  • Add peeled Small Onion and grind at the end to a coarse paste.
  • Heat oil add Mustard Seeds, Urad Dal, Curry Leaves and mix with chutney (optinal).
